Training with us

Chivar offers training to Urologists, General surgeons, Resident Doctors, General Practitioners, and Nurses across West Africa who are interested in pursuing a career or gaining experience in Minimal Access Surgery including endourology, laparoscopic surgery and laser surgery. This has been valuable in helping many young medical practitioners decide on a career path and has been achievable through various endourology workshops in collaboration with partners from the United Kingdom. We collaborate with our partners to provide BLS and ACLS training for clinicians and paramedics.
Chivar served as a centre for the West African College of Surgeons (WACS) pre-conference outreach in January 2020, where it was used for endourology and laparoscopy workshops. The goal is to become the apex Teaching Hospital and Research Institute for medical practitioners from all specializations across Africa.

Prospects for the future

Chivar has prospects of becoming a centre of excellence for modern medical practice and clinical research. We aim to become a multi organ transplant centre beginning with kidney transplantation. Our goal is to become the apex teaching hospital and research institute for medical practitioners from all specializations across Africa and a key driver of domestic medical tourism which will significantly contribute to the nation’s GDP.
